Good Points

A complex of 3 hotels and apartments. Very clean, well maintained gardens, lots of activities for adults and children. Well equiped gym and beauty centre. Excellent food (especially the buffet in Hotel 2) with a number of additional restuarants and bars - plenty of choice. Entertainment usually finishes by 11pm.

Bad Points

Only minor things - snack bar closes at 11pm, so you can't get food.

General Comments

A lovely hotel, and of a high standard for Spain! Staff are very friendly, and all speak good English (but appreciate it if you try your pigeon-Spanish!)

We were all-inclusive in Hotel 2, and the food was brilliant. Huge selection to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner: roast of the day, hot food, cold salads (hundreds of them!), sea food. Every day has a slightly different theme (Mexican, Italian etc). Children are very well catered for. If you were going out you could ask for a pic-nic to take with you. Not the most appitising, but food none-the-less.

All-inclusive entitles you to local drinks (beer, spirits etc) and soft drinks. Be careful with their measures - vodka with a splash of coke! 'Imported' drinks (bottled beers, spirits etc) are available for a supplement (usually 1 euro).

Accomodation was clean and spacious (we had a 'duplex' room which had an upstairs bedroom, as well as a downstairs lounge with sofabeds). As with any hotel, the rooms were serviced daily (but the standard of the service depended on which maid you got - luckily the one who did our room most days was excellent) TV was mainly Spanish, with CNBC being the only English channel.

Activities were provided during the day for both children and adults. Pools in the three hotels were very clean and well maintained. There was never any problem getting a sunbed. Hotel provided towels for the sunbeds.

Evening entertainment varied, but each of the three hotels had something different on, so you always had a choice. Look out for the group who did the excellent Kannibal and Horror shows (the latter can be a bit scary for some children at first, but quite fun after they get onto stage!)

The hotel complex is right beside the beach, which is clean, long and well staffed (including the local police constantly patrolling). A local market is right beside the hotel every Friday morning - some real bargains to be had there.

Busses take you to Tarragona, Salou and Port Aventura - 1.15euro per person. If you're going to Port Aventura, take a taxi if there are 3-4 of you - it's a lot quicker and only a little more expensive (6-8 euros depending on the driver!). Also, check your change on the bus - every time we used it we got short changed by one or two euros. The drivers quickly corrected the change when we complained....

I totaly agree with this review. I stayed in this hotel in May 2003 and I had a great time, it is great for couples and families and the location was excellent. The food was cracking and the staff were very friendly. I am a travel agent and would recommend it to any of my customers.

This review is spot on. We are going back on 07 Sep 04 for our fourth visit and can't wait to get there. There is everything you can wish for here. Especially the food.

We visited Estival Park 1 (half board) September 2003 and found the hotel fantastic we took our 14 month old son who loved all the attention by staff who where extremely friendly. The food was excellent and the rooms very clean. We are all visiting again August 2005 with our new addition to the family (who will be 8 months old on arrival) and I feel very confident that our stay will be just as good.
