Good Points

This machine measures your blood pressure while pumping up. This is totally different than other machines that pump up way above your blood pressure then slowly let down the pressure until it detects a pulse. It is faster and more comfortable and gives more accurate readings.

Bad Points

Does not interface with a computer

General Comments

Since this machine measures the pressure while pumping up, it gives more accurate readings. A typical blood pressure machine pumps up way beyond your blood pressure and slowly lets out the pressure until a pulse is detected. While your blood flow is totally shut off, your brain and heart can trigger an increase in blood pressure to try to 'fix' this blockage. Some people are much more reactive than others.... probably the reason for 'white coat hypertension'... high readings only in the doctors office. The old way of pumping way up, then letting out the pressure is a copy of the manual method using an arm cuff, stethoscope and sphygmomanometer. An electronic machine can do the job faster and more accurately by detecting the first instant of blood flow stoppage... thus subjecting you body to a much shorter interval of blood flow stoppage.
