Good Points

Only good point is that it's in Ayia Napa, not a bad walk to the square, not so nice on way back.

Bad Points

The apartments are very dated, the manager was totally useless when there was problems but the staff seemed to be holding the place together.

General Comments

We arrived on sat night, all seemed good, the room didn't look too bad so we went straight into town. On Sunday night the electricity went at 4am, so no air con, we reported it Monday morning to the manager, she seemed nice so we thought all was fine. Maintenance men came up twice and played about with the electrics, each time they said it was fixed but it was still not working. That evening we had the barman up, he tried to fix it, then at 11.30pm that night we came back to our room and got into bed it went again When I went down to report it again, the manager said she wasn't working as did most of staff, then the bar man came back up to try again. I had to ask for another room, we were told not till Tuesday so we had to spend the night in a room with no electricity or air con. Through all this, we almost felt as if we were in the wrong for complaining, with the way we were being reacted to. On Tuesday we got a new room, checked everything and it seemed to be alright, until that night when the air con wasn't working right. We didn't want to be a pain, so we left it until Wednesday morning, went to the manager again, she said she would get someone to look at it. We had to ask her again at lunch time, she said someone was coming in the afternoon but nothing happened. We went out for the evening, when we came back the manager had gone home, the staff knew nothing about it, no manager available. Barman then told us he could put on the air con in the living room so we had to move the mattress into the living room to sleep. On Thursday morning, the owner arrived at our apartment door to check the air con, he tried to say that there was nothing wrong with it but another member of staff pointed out that it was broken, it was finally fixed Thursday evening. We got no apology, we still felt like moaners, yet we felt we moaned about very little. We didn't moan about the lack of water pressure in the basin in toilet, which was in both apartments, maybe it's rationed. I think the only reason we got a change of towels and sheets is because we moved rooms. Then to top it all off, our money disappeared out of our safe box, which is kept in reception for safety reasons. When we got the safe box the manager told us that she had also put in a second key to open it. We only used it 3 times and only used our key, yet she was only there some of the time so who else minds the keys. If I had never been to Cyprus before (we have been 4 times) I don't think I'd go back, that paints a seriously bad picture but people have to know. If you do go there be careful and don't wait for anything to be fixed, go straight to rep and keep your money in your pocket.

I disagree with this review because... personally I had a brilliant time in Cyprus and staying at Aphelandra made it all the better.
