Powerful light.
Heavy battery drain.
Poor switch.
I bought this as a replacement for my old AA Maglite. It's pretty impressive at first I will admit, but soon falls short of expectations.
I have read that you can use NMh rechargeable batteries in it, obviously the people who claim this don't actually have a AA led Maglite, or they would know that any batteries other than alkaline are useless in it.
The alkaline ones last about an hour and a half. Rechargeable ones are lucky to last half that.
The main problem is that if you don't use the torch every day you will find that the rechargeable batteries will be dead flat after a few days without use, or even more annoyingly, light up for a few seconds then cut out.
The power just cuts out, it doesn't gradually dim as the old maglite does, and so is unpredictable as to when it will give up. I have taken to carrying spare batteries with me when out at night.
The switching system remains as before, twist on and off, a push button would be far easier to operate one handed. All in all most disappointing, there are far more efficient torches out there for the money.
