Good Points

It was a cheap offer by the dealer, prior to the current model coming in in order for them to move old stock.

Bad Points

Huge servicing costs every 6000 miles.
Tail steps out at even the hint of throttle in the wet on all but the slightest of bends which can catch the uninitiated out in a spectacularly dangerous fashion.
The truck crashes over bumps making long journeys tiresome.
Engine expired at 68,000 miles.

General Comments

I have a 22-month old Nissan Navara Double Cab which I bought from a main dealer from new. I have covered 68,000 miles in 22 months in this car, mainly light-duty motorway miles. It has been main-dealer maintained and yet at 68,000 miles the engine is in pieces due to a con-rod failing and punching a hole through the side of the engine block.

My Nissan dealer (Yeomans) is refusing to repair the engine at their cost, Nissan UK are refusing to repair the engine due to it being 8000 miles outside its warranty a not maintained absolutely to their standards. This truck is less than two years old and has been services SEVEN TIMES by a main dealer.

Has anyone else had this problem? I am pursuing my dealer and my finance company Nissan Finance GB Ltd under the Sale Of Goods Act as this to me is a latent manufacturing fault that shows itself at around 60k miles. As a consumer/buyer I think you have rights to a claim up to six years after the sale takes place. Has anyone succeeded in making Nissan pay for repairs?

Now I know why the service interval is so ridiculously low, their engines are weak.

Do not buy a Nissan Navara that is not covered by a manufacturers warranty, I am left with a £10,000 HP debt and a £7500 main dealer repair bill. I have a bitter taste in my mouth.

  • SERVICE DESK on 28th Aug 2007

YEOMANS Nissan Worthing, have now agreed to replace the entire engine, charging just for the parts required. YEOMANS are covering the complete labour charge, as a gesture of goodwill.

Navara is now being repaired by Yeomans Nissan Worthing. They are paying the Complete labour element of repair and also supply all parts at cost price. Therefore Yeomans are making no money and paying the labour charge themselves.
This is a goodwill gesture offered by Yeomans Nissan Worthing without assistance from Nissan Motors GB.
