Good Points

Good size. Very lightweight.


Bad Points

Very poor design. Very poor durability. Very poor support from Samsonite Guarantee.


General Comments

We bought two lightweight Samsonite duffel bags, the ones with wheels and trolley handles to use as pull alongs. We did so because they were very light.

Bad mistake, for two reasons:
(i) The material used is totally inadequate for the base of the bag when used as a trolley (the bit it would stand on). This is just made of the material and has no solid support, so the bag falls over all the time when stationary. But much worse - we took them on ONE 14 day air holiday and when home found to our dismay that on BOTH cases the bottom panel was so scuffed that there were small holes right through it! Yes, holes! (ii) Then even worse, Samsonite will take NO responsibility - why? The reason I have been given is because we took them on an aircraft and therefore all and any damage must have been down to the air company! Samsonite will take no responsibility whatsoever, even though the cases were NEW, they BOTH holed in the same way, and they could not explain how such damage was possible. But that's their Guarantee terms. So, as far as I can see, it seems to me that if you use any of their cases by air, Samsonite will not guarantee them.
I recommend that you do not buy Samsonite - look elsewhere for decent design, quality and guarantees.

    I agree with this review because I'm having exactly the same problems (holes and chips of the support base) with apparently the same product - lightweight duffel bags on trolley wheels....For me the situation is even worse since we bought our duffels in the US and now live in Germany.....Customer Service from Samsonite is a nightmare (Germany redirecting us to the USA, USA saying to contact Samsonite Germany and so on...) and it seems like we will get no refund, no replacement or whatever....Totally disappointing!
