Singular bad point - doesn't reach every type of person. Specifically appealing to people of a certain type.
Like a lot of people, I'm always on the lookout for pubs/clubs/bars that will suit my tastes. The Matrix hasn't been around for that long, but is well known around Grimsby. Found in the middle of town centre, you shouldn't have problems finding it. Two floors, the bottom one is where you purchase drinks, socialise and have access to the toilets. Upper floor is for performing artists, the club hosts gigs on a regular basis. Music played isn't for everyone. Loud and obnoxious, depends what you like. But don't be expecting The Spice Girls or similar sounds, it sticks to only the categories I've mentioned above. Staff are friendly and helpful. Entry fee doesn't exist unless you enter floor two where you have to pay to watch the bands. On gig nights, mainly Friday and Saturday, 16+. But if visiting during the week, 18+. A lively venue, perfect if you want to 'mosh' or simply, have a good time. If you like the sort of music mentioned, don't be sluggish, give it a try.
