I bought a 1991 E36 4 months ago for $3500 NZ and invested another $1000 in two rear shocks, a transmission flush and fluid replacement and some upholstery repairs. For 4500 in total is a great car, looks and runs great and still has some style.
My only concern is a small kick in the shift form first to second when the engine is cold, seems the transmission is a bit harsh and I wonder if it will fail anytime soon, although as soon as the engine reaches average temperature the problem disappears...

Anyway, if the car lasts for the 3 years I need it it will be the best buy in my life, considering how much fun I have everyday going from home to work in Wellington.
