Ever since I heard that song 'Ice Cream' (yes the one on the intel ad), I knew I needed to hear more of New Young Pony Club. Their debut album Fantastic Playroom where they really come into their own though, with their synthy, playful pop, this album is one of those that I'm going to find very addictive.
Apart from Ice Cream which was released earlier this year, there are some absolute gems on this album. Highlights include the infectious 'Hiding On The Staircase'and 'The Bomb' which is one hell of a party tune that leaps out at you like an edgier version of an eighties disco classic.
This album definitely sets them apart from the rest of the electro/indie tribe by miles. Something tells me this band will be around long after the new rave kids have chucked their glowsticks.
