Good Points

The Cerato's major selling point is the 2.0 CRDi diesel engine which offers the car plenty of torque and brake horsepower. The car drives like a petrol vehicle, and the engine is swift in responding. The car's top speed nears 200 kph and the equipment does match: air conditioning, all electric windows and rear view mirrors, wheel covers (alloys optional extra), and some woodwork on the dashboard... The car is comfortable inside and offers plenty of room for four adults to be seated royally, even for long journeys. The suspension is good, offers a good grip on the road, and is firm on twisty roads, while not being too hard on rough rides.

Bad Points

The Cerato's dashboard and instrumentation is aging, and in 2007, while most competition have opted for on board electronics such as on board computers, CD players, voice recognition, and futuristic dashboard/display designs, the Cerato reminisces on the more classic, more 'boring' layout we can see on most 90s' sedans.

General Comments

If you are looking for a good car, then the Cerato is a good compromise considering the value it offers in terms of performance and comfort. But if you are planning to make your friends jealous, then the Cerato's roomy interior will not match that of a Peugeot 307, Mercedes C Class, VW Golf, or even a Honda Civic. The exterior design of the vehicle is quite the opposite, and equipment is more than correct with airbags, air conditioning (automatic optional), electric doors (remote control optional), tape player (CD optional), and all electric windows/rear view mirrors. The car also comes with a powerful 2.0 CRDi diesel which is responsive and quiet, and very capable. The gearbox is also very well laid out for the city and the highway, and the car's response is always satisfying.
