Cheap, and at first very effective.
After less than a year the "100% ceramic plates" started peeling off.
When I first bought the Hair Tools Thermo Ceramic Straightener I was really pleased, as they were much cheaper than GHD's, yet looked almost identical, and straightened my hair almost as well (they were never anywhere near as quick as GHD's, but for the money I paid, I didn't really mind.) However, now the ceramic plates are peeling away, leaving a metal surface that catches your hair and leaves it in a horrible condition.
They may seem like a bargain, but I would not recommend them!
