I have rented a car from Thrifty at Vancouver International Airport. I chose this as it offered the car at a very low price. I had no problems with the car until I went to return the car after two days. At the time of renting, I declined any insurance as I had my own. The guy never came to the car and he told me to inspect if there are any damages. He also told me that there were scratches on the bumper and never to care about that. I took his word and never looked at the contract, what he put on the paper and just looked around the car for any damages. When I returned the car, the guy who took the car saw straight under the front bumper and showed me two very small scratches under the bumper. No one can ever see those scratches standing. He had to bend and look under it. He claimed that the scratches were not there before and that I am responsible for it. The people there told me that the guy who gave the car to me mentioned the rare bumper and not the front bumper. I always assumed it to be the front bumper. Even if I had assumed it not to be the front one, I would never have looked under it for scratches. When I wanted to talk about the issue, no one was even ready to talk to me. They just want me to fill papers and leave. Finally now I think I will neither recommend thrifty to anyone nor I will rent from it even if they offer their cars for free... I had such a horrible experience.
