Light, good quality wood and metalwork blueing

I had heard this Cometa -50 rifle would be quite noisy, but found it no louder than me Webley Raider with silencer to be honest. Sean and I approached a tree on our shoot whilst after woodpigeon, and were rewarded with the sight of a magpie appearing barely 10 yards away. Sean dispatched the bird easily from this distance with the 50, surprisingly with little fuss. So in answer to Mathew's question I would suggest that 10 yards for small/medium quarry may be a good starting point?
