Artificial intelligence is excellent.
Replay value is excellent, after a year I'm still directing Civil War battles daily with this game.
Artificial Intellingence can be stopped at the division, battery, brigade or regiment level by Taking Command of the unit.
This game is moddable and there's many 3rd party Orders of Battle, maps and battles out there.
Maps and Battle Scenarios are historically accurate.
Open play battles or semi-scripted Battle scenarios base on historical facts.
Choice of Defend, Attack or Enemy Meeting battle engagements in Open Play.
Choice of Commander: Corps level, Division level or brigade level.
Choice of small, medium or large battles in Open Play mode.
Short learning curve - very intuitive - excellent tutorial.
140 page detailed owner's manual is included.
No multi-player option.
Graphics could be a little better but are very acceptable for a 19th century battle strategy game.
A fast 1GB+ PC is necessary especially if high resolution graphics is enabled in the game.
Take Command Second Manassas (TC2M) is an American Civil War strategy game in real time based on the 2nd Manassas Civil War Battle. The artificial intelligence is awesome, the best I've seen in any PC game. Because of this, the replay value is above excellent. After a year of playing this game almost on a daily basis, no two Open Play battles have even been remotely similar!
Beware war gamers and especially Civil War buffs, this game is Extremely addictive. Its just about the next best thing to experiencing a Civil War Battle!
Though the original version of this game revolves around the Battle of 2nd Manassas, there are mods and maps available such as Gettysburg and Antietem.

This game is extremely hard to find on store shelves for some reason and has to be typically ordered or downloaded. Check out MMG's website for ordering the CD or downloading details. They also have an excellent Forum with helpful hints, tips, comments, etc. You'll be hard pressed to find any negative user comments regarding this game.
The $30 I spent for this game is unquestionably the best money I ever spent!
