I have to add this, after further listening since my last review of these Acoustic Solutions AV120.
These speakers sound a lot worse the higher the volume. Also I've got to point out that they really are not suitable for certain types of music. As the previous reviewer said, the midrange can be nasty. In fact, as you turn the volume up, it gets very nasty, especially with music such as drum & bass. You get bass, you get drum, but you also get more of the midrange, and with drum and bass, that's not what you should be listening to.

Give these speakers some more delicate acoustic rock or something like that, and if you keep the volume at a relatively sociable level, there shouldn't be any obvious problems. Fire some serious punishment through these babies and they'll come straight right back and start to punish your ears with a messy sound.

But as I said before look at the price these are selling for and I'd still recommend them. However there are alternatives at this price that you should try listening to as well, Mission and Kef are big names that now do speakers for small prices but for floorstanders at this price I'd say the AV-120s are definite contenders.
