Good Points

Centrally located.
Enormous, so you'll always find a table.
Clearly separate and raised eating area (it's a former theatre and you're effectively on the stage).

Bad Points

It can be rough - day and night. If you're 36, vaguely attractive, slim and in a suit, then you're sure to get female attention, but not the type of female you might want to encourage. Don't buy anyone a drink! You'll never make it alive...

General Comments

Wetherspoons in Bangor is a fab place to meet with friends before going to a restaurant or wine-bar / gastro-pub place for food (several nearby).

In the day it tends to be filled with people with no-where else to go. The beer is cheap, the wine cheaper still, and the food is actually pretty OK for the price. Due to the size of the place, the kitchen may as well be in a different county, so food is often a little less hot than expected, but generally the quality and portion sizes are OK. If you want a decent meal however, go 300 yards further up the hill to the Black Cat, which is fab, although dearer, and you might need to book.

Oh, and remember, don't talk to the locals...
