Superb overall sound, excellent bass response, great price.
Headphone socket is direct from the computer. The headphone socket volume is not controlled by the speakers it is controlled by the computer.
These speakers are amazing for the money. The sound is great and with any sort of music the sound stays great. Very loud and they don't appear to ever go distorted. The speakers are worth every penny. They are great with films and music and I even had my TV on them. Logitech have done themselves proud with the X-230s.
