The book was exciting to read and easy to follow and like all Detective Bosch novels maintains a positive note in the struggle for justice in the Los Angeles Police world of corruption and deception. I love Michael Connelly novels because of Bosch and other characters who are truly noble in their search for justice at all costs. How inspiring to believe in a world where right triumphs and the bad guys get it in the end. Bosch lives a life of complexity and one might hope he had a more happy existence apart from his work.
Bad Points
I have nothing bad to say about the book which I truly enjoyed.
General Comments
This is about the fifth Connelly book I have read and one of the best although I enjoyed my recent read Chasing the Dime. I have to say that I am truly inspired by Bosch who leaves even the most dedicated of us wishing we had more of his intelligence, drive, persistence and refined social skills. Bosch never loses his composure and dignity and treats those he meets with even handed sincerity as he struggles with his flaws and guilt, inevitable, in the world in which he resides.
