I recently bought my Tigra 1.4 and I love it. My Tigra is in the best colour (Antigua Blue) which looks lovely and sporty. It has the Irmscher body kit which looks awesome. It's a real head turner. The hood works really well with no leaks and looks fantastic. I feel the power is enough for me, and still cheap to insure and tax. I have heated leather seats which is really nice in the evenings by the seaside! I thought the stereo would be quiet as my old car had a really good stereo but this is excellent even with the hood down. It's very good on fuel. The only slight bad point if you can call it bad is the boot is electronic so you have to wait whilst holding a button outside? The boot is huge when the roof is up and still enough room when the hood is down. All in all I love my car but have had to by a hat as my face keeps getting a little burnt! Well done Vauxhall much better than Peugeot 206cc!
Bad Points
Only the electronic boot.

on 24th Sep 2008Now and then when it is raining hard there can be a slight leak by the seal that is located at the top of the drivers window. It only comes though when the window is open as the water goes in between the seal which is really annoying but cures it when you close the window.

Unfortunately my beloved Tigra (2005) has developed a leak that has let lots of water seep under the driver's footwell and everything is sopping wet. I've taken it to my local garage today, he took the plugs out from under the sills and lots of water has emptied out. I now have to take it to a specialist garage for investigations as now obvious signs of a leak were found today. I will let you know how it goes.

on 4th Mar 2009Sarahlou... I am having the exact same problem- mine has been in the garage SIX times. For the last visit they had it for three weeks- i picked it up this morning and it's still not fixed :-( Can you let me know what they say about yours please??

Hi Littletitch (great name!)
Took the car to Vauxhall specialist - they quickly looked at the car, ruled out door seal and roof fault and then they informed me that it would cost £339 just to look at the car properly. I obviously baulked at this and took it to a normal local garage recommended by Trading Standards. Took them approx 1 hour - there was a fault on the drivers door seal - fixed it for £40. Now have a dry car. I'm amazed why the three other garages were not able to see this. I didn't get all the details of the fault as I had to pick up my car out of hours and the guy who fixed it wasn't there, just the admin girl. If you want I can ask them for more details.LittleTitch
on 12th Mar 2009Thanks for replying... if you could find out I would really appreciate it!
It's driving me round the bend. The car is now going back in to the garage, to be sent to a Vauxhall 'Centre Of Excellence', if they can't find anything it is to be inspected by a 'Regional Technician' before potentially being sent to Luton for EIGHT weeks. This has been going on since October last year and the car has been in for a total of around 12 weeks already!
I'm currently dealing with trading standards... :-(
Any help would be hugely appreciated!ginag1983 on 7th May 2009
I have only just bought my tigra - 2 weeks old. Water in the footwell, carpet soaked. Only found it when I went to clean the mats. I'll be on the bounce to Vauxhall first thing. Interested in keeping updated on any of your progress!

Hi Little Titch, recently had the same problem!! Took car to local garage and was quoted over £200 pounds for new roof seals. As I was not convinced that this was the problem after reading your comments, I took my car to another local garage. The mechanic looked underneath my car and immediately found the problem. Apparently there are vents running along the sills. Mine had become blocked, were filling up with water which was then spilling into my car into the drivers footwell. When the vents were cleared the amount of water that drained out was unbelievable. Charged me £5. Worth a try!!! Hope this solves your problem.

on 18th May 2009Hi,
Mine finally appears to be fixed!! It has taken six months (which most of that time I've been driving little courtesy cars whilst Vauxhall have been faffing around).
Anyone with this problem write to Head Office straight away- they are rubbish and won't return calls, inform you of next steps etc but don't bother with the Network. The problem with mine was it was being sent to various garages where no logs were being made so when it needed to go to the Centre of Excellence and then be inspection by a Regional Senior Technician I had to really fight for it as they weren't aware it had even been in the garage!! Make sure you get copies of all work logs whenever it goes in the garage.
I will NEVER buy another Vauxhall again... The Dealership said it wasn't their problem as they 'only had a servicing department' and Head Office said it wasn't theirs as 'I didn't buy directly from the website....' You wouldn't believe the stuff I was told. I was off work for a prolonged period of time which meant I had the time to chase the right people. I was ringing up to three times a day and I was having to pass information on as Head Office obviously hadn't. I think in the end they just had enough of me and wanted rid... mentioning trading stanards helped... Phew.... I'll get off my soapbox now :-)
Basically there were two problems with mine, a 'twisted pipe'!!! and a blocked drainage tube.
It's just a shame- they are not the best drive in the world but they look fab, shame they are built by Vauxhall!LittleTitch

I have a 2007 tigra exclusive, it is leaking through the door seals on both doors, also leaking at top of doors, new seals ( £600) have been put in - thankfully vauxhall paid for it, they said it was a gesture of goodwill as the car only has 12k onit!!! 2days after geting it back it qwas leaking worse than ever. anyone else had the same problem??

I have a tigra exclusive, registered May 2009, water is collecting in the drivers door seal, has been back to dealer 3 times now, where they have replaced the door seal, the membrane and adjusted the door. The dealer kept a hosepipe on the door, no leaks. Ive taken it back 3 times now and guess what - leaks every time it rains. Ive now logged complaint with Vauxhall customer care on the advice of the Dealer having asked them to replace the car but theyve now told me Vauxhall are no longer making the Tigra's!! Help, any useful comments/advice gratefully received.
