Does everything. Excellent, commanding riding position. Superb handling.
Extras are expensive, buffeting with standard screen, BMW personnel, uncomfortable after long periods.
The BMW R1200GS is an all-round fantastic bike. Feels like a bike used to, handles like it's on rails. I took mine through the Alps last summer and she was great fun. There is a problem with wind buffeting with these bikes, and there are whole websites dedicated to the problem. I partially cured the problem with a taller screen (ironically it works best in the lowest position) and things called "winglets". It's not the fastest bike I've ever owned, but amazingly it is the quickest! I've been out a few times with mates on sports bikes, and there's nothing more satisfying than creaming pocket rockets through the twisties on a big trailie.
