General Comments

I don't own a Hurricane, but my dad does - and he's had it for over 25 years - it's still in great condition and shoots as well as my much newer CO2 pistol despite having lived an active life.

First thing's first - I love this pistol - mostly because it's powerful, accurate (I'll get to that in a minute) and extremely robust, but also because it's so much fun to use. This pistol puts a smile on my face, and I think that this is very important in an air weapon of any kind.

The model I shoot is in .22, but the Hurricane also comes in .177 which could be a slightly better choice for a pistol of this power, as it'll bring out the full accuracy potential.

My Hurricane has a dovetail attachment that can be fitted behind the barrel replacing the rear sight - but I find the open sights to be more than good enough when I'm shooting things within my capable range (a maximum of 50 yards). Using the dovetail will allow you to use an scope or a red dot sight - either of which I feel would work well on this pistol.

As for the accuracy? Let's just say that I can hit a tin of tomatoes from 50 yards 3 out of 4 times, and that's with the recoil that the Hurricane produces. You do have to think about the trajectory however, as .22 pellets tend to drop a couple of inches over this range and at such power (although my model may be slighly worn out) - but I think this is very good using the open sights and shows what the Hurricane is capable of.

This pistol is great fun - the recoil gives a sense of satisfaction, and they're still being made to almost exactly the same design as they were back in the early days. This just goes to show what I great pistol the Hurricane is ...

I would strongly recommend the Webley Hurricane as a plinker of target pistol - great fun, simple, easy to use, and most of all, it's British (well the older ones anyway ... )

Hope this has been a helpful review.
