Easy to hunt small game do to multiple projectiles.
accurate, up to about 15 yards for shot shells.
amazing penetration with beeman crow magnum pellets.
easy to cock.
looks cool.
no recoil.
800 fps with pellets.
Not worth shooting anything past 20 yards with shot shells.
shot shells are somewhat expensive (about $7 for 25).
no adjustable sights or back sights, making pinpoint accuracy almost impossible with pellets.
only shoots like 500-600 fps with shot shells.
I bought my Gamo Gamo Viper Express from Airgunsexpress for $229.99, which i thought was a good deal. I use mine a lot for hunting in my back yard.
It's great at close range with shot shells, but at far range the #9 lead shots loose their speed. With beeman crow magnum pellets, I shot several shots at 3/4 inch plywood, and it penetrated it with ease, leaving a very large exit wound. however, it is very hard to hunt with the pellets because there is only a front sight and cannot dependably shot small game (unless you're shooting larger small game such as rabbits, opossums, raccoons). There is a scope mount on the gun, but the recoil moves the scope back with every shot you take. There is very little recoil, but no matter how hard you screw it in, it will find a way to nudge along. overall it is a great investment if you're looking for varmint control, plinking, or just for an alternative to a shotgun.
Worth the money
