General Comments

This is suppose to be a frost free fridge freezer, yet every 6-12 months the back panel of the freezer needs removing and defrosting. This is quite easy to do providing you have a TORXs screwdriver set. This is to remove the large amounts of ice that builds up around the fan an starts to make even more noise than ever. The hole to the evaporation tray constantly fills with water and surprise surprise being in a freezer it freezes up and then the freezer starts leaking. On a good day when its all working well it sounds like it has a belly ache. with lots of moaning a groaning plus the popping and cracking sounds that happen periodically. I have also had problems with the door milk tray, which is held on be plastic clips which are for to thin to support the weight of what ever you might put inside it. The size of the door pocket suggests that you can put quite a lot inside this door pocket but in truth it can hold little more than 1 pint of milk. I have replaced this and the replacement part has thicker plastic clips than the original, and therefore is now safe for the job it was designed for. In my opinion this should have be part of a recall. We also bought at the same time a Hotpoint Washer/Dryer this was also very troublesome, and indeed was tipped after less than 18 months in use. Hotpoint engineers are not very helpful at all. I will never buy Hotpoint again! Fact
