It's battery powered and claims to operate over 11 hours on 3 C cell batteries. We thought that an AC adapter would be a good addition, but the cord on the stove would not be a good idea.
I saw the Boiling Minder at the International Housewares show and then saw a great demonstration at the Homewares show in Orlando. The product does exactly what it says, it ELIMINATES BOIL OVER on the stove. Boiling Pasta, oatmeal, rice and anything else that boils over on the stove will now be a thing of the past.When I got mine, I tried several times to boil over. The Boiling Minder just works!
