They did not deliver my ticket
Their Telephone was out of order on the day of the game and the day before.
They refused a refund
Two weeks before the game, I ordered a champions league final ticket from Worldticketshop.com for the AC Milan Liverpool Game in Athens (23rd May 2007). The price was 1,495.00 euros plus a 30,00 euro extra fee, so that they would send the ticket by Fedex (reputable courier service) to an address I gave them in Athens.
They sent me an invoice with their Terms & Conditions (all fairly reasonable) and they charged my credit card, the above amount. I contacted them by telephone and e-mail quite a few times before I left for Athens and they assured me that everything was alright and I would receive my ticket at least 1 day before the game.
I was in Athens 5 days before the game and nothing was arriving. 2 days before the game I happened to be standing next to two Englishmen in a train. One of them was talking on his mobile about delivering tickets to various people in Athens and was holding a list of names and addresses and reference numbers which looked very similar to my reference number. I asked them if they were delivering tickets for Worldticketshop.com and they asked me for my ref. number. When I told them I didn't have it on me, they quickly refused that they were delivering tickets from Worldticketshop.com and told me to go away.
36 hours before the game I e-mailed Worldticketshop.com and 2 hours later I started calling their Dutch telephone number which seemed to suddenly be out of order. 12 hours before the game they e-mailed me back giving me a mobile number to call, but by that time I did not have access to a computer and did not get to read the message until after the game. Also 3 and a half hours before the game someone speaking English called the telephone number of my B&B in Athens twice and asked for me, but I was already out trying to find another ticket.
When I asked for a refund they claimed that they did everything they could to contact me including sending me sms's (which I never received!!), and stated that they have no intention of paying me back as they lost money on my ticket due to a bad supplier.
I am determined to go after them in any possible way. I am actually more angry about missing the game and the wasted trip to Athens rather than the small fortune I lost on the ticket. I'm also prepared to spend more money and time to chase them.
If anyone reading this and they had a similar experience with them, I would like to hear from you. I would also welcome any advice on what is the best course of action.
