Good Points

The Navara kingcab is a very practical vehicle and drives and handles superb.

Bad Points

My Navara has always had a very annoying tappet noise from new, the original bridge stone tyres are appalling, (this was rectified by fitting Avon Rangers)
My truck blew the turbo and injectors at 30,000 (luckily repaired under warranty) but now at 60,000 it has decided to throw a con rod. I would highly recommend NOT to buy a Navara as this seems to be the norm. For a diesel engine not able to do at least 100,000 is disgusting. I am now left with a vehicle worth scrap money. I repeat, don't buy one.

General Comments

When I bought my Navara I'd done a lot of research before buying it, it was a new model so none had done many miles and I had not read any bad reports.
I still feel the Navara is the best looking pickup and the best handling.
I was very pleased with the Navara but after the turbo going at 30,000 and now the engine giving up the ghost at 60,000 I can't explain how cheesed off I am.
A replacement engine from Nissan around £4,000 plus a second hand engine at least £2,500, what a joke.
My truck is now worthless because the engine's let go at such low miles. There are a glut of trucks out there thus making the parts worthless.
There is one saving grace out of this as I am looking into fitting a small block V8.
Once I have the adapter plates manufactured I will be advertising them so other people can convert their trucks and at least have a vehicle they can use.

I found this review helpful because Author offers an alternative engine source. Well done!
No referance to service history and maintenance carried out on vehicle, was it as per manufactures spec?

Have you had any success with alternate engines? I have d22 that has just started making noises that indicate piston probably hit valves due to conrod bolt prob. I've stopped before total break?
