General Comments

I surprised my wife with a trip to Melbourne for the Australian Open. We paid for it through a sports ticketing (travel) agency and got an all-inclusive package. I paid for that in November.
Then we got another surprise, I was very surprised to see that Clarion Suites billed my credit card in April for the full amount of the stay there $750 Australian Dollars. When I protested, they simply said they were not paid by the sports agency and therefore they had no choice but to bill me! This is not my obligation, just because the Clarion had my credit card number they took advantage of me, a paying customer and a repeat one at that!

I recommend you never ever stay at this hotel. Anyone who treats their customers in this manner does not deserve your business!

There are a number of other hotels in the area with better operating principles I am sure.

The gentleman failed to disclose that the hotel was not paid by the entity that he chose to make his booking.
All potential guests need to exercise caution when buying a package on-line, there are rogue elements in the travel business.
Although, we do sympathize with his predicament, we are required to protect our business and the onus is on Buyer Be Aware.
It is not in the interest of any business to act without ethics, I would like to think that we have a high standard that forms part of our Mission Statement.

The point is that I am an innocent victim here. The disagreement is between this hotel and the company making the booking.

Ifeel the hotel took advantage of me just because they could do so! Do you want to do business with someone like that? Think twice. There are a number of hotels in the area who are in my opinion more ethical.

Unfortunately, we do have a impasse, in that the guest is unwilling to take responsibility in making payment to a rogue element.
We were unable to process payment on the entity's credit card, as it was declined, therefore, for services rendered we charged the guest directly.
At one time the guest requires to take responsibility of his actions.
Regrettably on this occasion it was poor judgment.
We do recommend that in future, more caution is exercised when buying online.

This is getting tiring. The question is one of ethics. It's clear these peoples' ethics are very very questionable! Take your business elsewhere.
