Good Points

No box required, just plug it straight into the SCART socket, small, neat, separate 'red eye' for remote signals, even a short SCART extension included if you can't make it fit neatly. Perfect for bedroom/kitchen LCD TV which is wall mounted with no other boxes seen in sight.

Bad Points

I had to buy three (from MAKRO) before I got one that worked OK, BUT I blame MAKRO as just about anything you buy from there with so much technology as a clockwork spring in it - seems to be faulted. On the plus side, this unit retails at £50, and MAKRO have it on for £30 + VAT, so you may get lucky and save (or pay it back in petrol for return trips...) Oh, and having complained to ALBA (the owners of BUSH) I have still not received a reply - Good old British customer care.

General Comments

Really, as it is intended to be small and lightweight, to sit behind flatscreens, any compromises are trivial. It is fit for purpose. OK, so you don't get either RF plug through, or SCART plug through, or any digital audio outs etc., but what are you expecting it to do? if you require these, they would have to be connected to another box, within cable distance, and so you may as well have a standard set top box.

The Electronic Program Guide is good, with 3 different display types, the remote is a little flimsy feeling, but responsive, you can select the usual things like display formats etc., and tucked away on the back of your LCD (with a cable tie) you only have to run a thin LV cable to it, It might have been nice if Bush included a sticky patch, or similar, to suspend it, and to reduce even more clutter a bendable, or shorter still SCART adaptor/extension, oh, and a decent customer care line.

On the whole, I am now, on my third go, very happy with this item, and find it to be a very useful piece of kit in clutter free zones, or maybe boats/caravans etc.

Recommended.
