Good Points

Great staff, excellent views, top quality food, uninterrupted sun by the pool.

Bad Points

Very minor, as it was the start of the season, a couple of nights we had no entertainment for those that stayed in the hotel.

General Comments

Myself along with my wife and daughter stayed at the Venezia in May 2007. It was our first holiday to Rhodes, so we were a bit apprehensive as the hotel is located on the outskirts of Faliraki, which over the years has gained a reputation for drunken brawls. We need not have worried as both the hotel and Faliraki itself were very welcoming.

The hotel is situated on the top of a hill which meant a 2 mile uphill walk from the town centre, a taxi cost about 6 Euros approximately £4. The benefit of the hill top location meant we had great views plus uninterrupted sunshine all day long. The hotel is family run and all the staff Sam, Maria, Takis, Ricky, Nickos and Sally were great, really friendly and welcoming. The free shots in the bar of a night time may be swaying my view though.

The hotel had a new restaurant installed for this season and it is worth every penny, or cent, they spent on it. A three course meal for 3 cost around 24 Euros (approx £17) I would recommend the Feta Saganaki as a starter. The bar stays open until the last person leaves and serves up a great non-alcoholic fruit cocktail for the kids. We all enjoyed the Karaoke nights but I'm not sure if they could take my rendition of Mustang Sally again. The bar leads onto an outdoor veranda, which in turn leads onto a soft play area/ball pit for the young ones, they really have thought of everything!

We stayed in a self catering studio, which was perfectly adequate for our needs, it consisted of 2 single beds plus a chair bed for our daughter, a fridge, breakfast table, kettle, crockery plus electric twin plate for cooking. We never cooked anything as the restaurant was so good. The bathroom was very spacious apart from the shower, which was probably the smallest and most powerful I've ever experienced. Each of the studios had their own private balcony with table and chairs.

The pool area was fantastic, big main pool plus small children's pool, children's play area, all day sun, plenty of loungers, inflatables plus it's own bar that served drinks and hot food all day.

All in all, this is a fantastic hotel, which I would recommend to anyone. It's that good we're already organising our return next year.
