Good Points

Very friendly staff and parts of the hotel were absolutely fabulous. Snorkelling off the pontoon is out of this world. LTI Grand Azure is close to the airport and easy to get to. The all-inclusive stay is so easy because everything is on hand including restaurants and bars etc.

Bad Points

Hotel was very busy and so lots of untrained staff have been brought in. The experienced, trained staff try to carry the others but it doesn't work. We have seen staff serving food, leave the toilets without washing their hands, we have seen a barman pushing up the soft drink dispensers and drinking from his hand! Plates in the main restaurant had a greasy film and we often had to wait up to 20 minutes just to get a cup! Food was cooked but then kept warm below the required temperature, for hours on end, allowing bacteria to flourish.

General Comments

Due to the untrained staff's lack of hygiene knowledge, food poisoning is rife. Two of my days were spent being horribly ill, I was on a drip and had to have injections and a course of antibiotics etc. The hotel doctors were marvelous but so over worked and only getting around two hours of sleep a day. They reported that 70% of the guests that come to the hotel fall ill in varying degrees, that is two out of three people, which means if you don't fall ill you are very lucky indeed! Although we are forgiving about a five star hotel in Egypt not coming up to 5 star standards elsewhere, it is not possible to forgive making people ill and having their well earned holidays ruined. My doctor's bill came to 185 Euros, we tried to speak to the general manager just to point this out and to beg him to do more staff training but he was unconcerned. I would say that unless this problem can be sorted, you are at risk of eating and drinking something that will poison you at this hotel, no matter how careful you are.
