practical
Thirsty!
build quality (feels like its made of reccycled biscuit tins!)
I have owned a 309 gti for about 3 years, despite a few test drives in other hot hatches, nothing i have tried has beaten its combination of performance and practicality. The fact is everyone knows of the sheer driveability of the 205 gti but the 309 is normally overlooked. The 309 weighs an extra 75kg over the 205. The extra weight is over the rear wheels improving weight distrubution. The affect on performance can be reversed with a few engine mods, payed for with the money saved on insurance. (trust me compare a quote for a 205 or similar!)
Ok i know drivers cars aren't supposed to be practical, ideally i would drive a caterham, but this would nessesitate a second car with 4 seats and a boot! Until i can aford this option i will stick with my sublime 309 and its ability to swallow enough gear for a weeks fishing, or attack a deserted welsh B road like its life depends on it!
