Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Jessica Stephenson together again .
Could have you wondering around pretending your a zombie !
Shaun of the Dead is a zombie, comedy film with an undercurrent of romance. It has an incredible cast including Simon Pegg, (Spaced, Black Books), Jessica Stephenson, (Spaced, According to Bex), Nick Frost, (Spaced), Dylan Moran, (Black Books), Lucy Davis, (The Office) and Peter Serafinowicz, (Spaced).
It is directed by Edgar Wright, who also directed Spaced and the French and Saunders TV series.
Wright also co-wrote the film with Actor, Simon Pegg.
The plot line goes a little something like this; Zombies suddenly appear and start feasting on the inhabitants of a little dreary town where the main character and his girlfriend are having a few difficulties romantically. The main difference with this film is that the Zombies can run!! A few people group together and try to survive with lot's of blood and gore and zombie splatting along the way, the funniest being when and are decided which vinyl LPs to launch at a member of the undead!
The film is witty and humorous all the way through and is moving in parts. At the end there is a hilarious surprise with tons of guest stars including Vernon Kay!!
It is a little disappointing that Jessica Stephenson got such a small part but her role is vital to the storyline. Dylan Moran's character can be a little grating as well but I think he's meant to be.
The film looks great throughout with awesome and bloody special effects and hundreds of undead extras. The sets are completely real looking and the lives of the main characters are reassuringly normal. All this makes the film believable. The acting and directing is spot on too.
This film is completely tongue in cheek and should viewed as such.
I would definitely recommend this to fans of Zombie films, comedy, Spaced, Black Books, The Office and to anyone who wants to know what it's all about. Basically if you like laughing watch this!!
