Good Points

Good food and drinks available on the flight. Cabin Crew very polite and tried to be helpful.


Bad Points

Broken seats on the plane meant passengers missed out on the flight and on the return trip. My partner had the seat in front constantly reclined in her lap. Got the impression it is an aging fleet, everything was a little tired. Really bad customer service at check-in, too many mistakes to list. We weren't treated as individuals in any respect.


General Comments

From my personal experience, I don't recommend flying Czech Airlines during busy holiday periods. I was disgusted to learn on arrival at check-in the flight had been over booked by 15 - 20 seats, over an hour before the check-in closed. As a result we were bumped off the flight, despite having booked months in advance. Both check-in attendants gave different reasons for the problem such as two broken seats and one told us "this sort of thing (overbooking) happens all the time." Czech Airlines then abandoned the 15 of us to two un-informed desk personnel who couldn't give any real answers for three hours, and as a result 'the mob' got increasingly angry. We were leaving on a Friday night, but they couldn't get us on a flight from London until Sunday. And there were waiting lists for the two flights on the Saturday. Rather morbidly we were told "the only way we would get a seat on Saturday is if there was a car pile up on the M25." Ultimately we had to fly to Manchester then on to Prague, losing a full day of our planned holiday. We were lucky and got there in the end, but I don't think others were so fortunate. Don't fly Czech Airlines on busy holiday periods if you can help it.
