Good Points

Light, cleans well.

Bad Points

Drive belt comes off.

General Comments

We are now on our second machine, and both suffer the same problem. The main drive belt comes off after a couple of uses.
The shop we purchased it from and Panasonic say there is no problem!
I would suggest strongly that you steer clear from these machines!
Certainly would not recommend them!!!

MJC......I really am surprised that you're having trouble with a Panasonic product. I have another brand of vacuum cleaner so no experience there. I own many other Panasonic/Technics items - some of them quite old now - and they've performed faultlessly. I sincerely hope your problem is resolved satisfactorily to all parties as I'd hate to see Panasonic getting a bad name.

    Please keep us posted.

We have had the same problem. I have been in touch with Panasonic complaining that there was a design fault. They agreed to replace the machine. The new one is just as bad. Apart from the drive belt coming off, it is excellent. However, I would certainly not recommend anybody to buy one. I have to put the belt on at least once a week and sometimes three times in a day. When a belt comes off it is often damaged by the motor spindle burning into it. The belt can only be replaced by packs with the two belts in. I am seriously contemplating buying a different machine. As a point of interest, we purchased a Panasonic because of the reliability of our previous Pansonic vacuum cleaner. This model, in my opinion, has a design defect.

I have had the same problem the small belt keeps coming off it then takes a screwdriver removal of fours screws to put back on. Comet are dragging there heels to sort this out as it is still in waranty.

I am not alone! I also have a continuous battle with the main drive belt. Not only does it come off but usually gets chewed up, the last one having done only one area of carpet approximatately 7 x 4 m sq before failing.
