Good Points

It didn't take long to set up the Digimax S500. It's easy to use and the pictures are good.


Bad Points

The battery life is really poor and when my non-rechargeable batteries die the zoom lens doesn't retract, which then no longer makes it easy to carry around without damaging the zoom lens until I get new batteries


General Comments

I contacted the Samsung Service Centre regarding the non retractable zoom lens first by email, I didn't get a helpful response, so I rang them and they told me that when non rechargeable batteries die, there is often insufficient power to close the lens and that I should buy rechargeable batteries, that being the case the camera should come with rechargeable batteries as standard.
