Good Points

I would not take out cover with Barclays, even if the insurance was free. I could not risk the stress of dealing with their maintenance company again.


Bad Points

My claim took months to be settled, and Barclays have a system where you have a claims manager who is supposed to deal with everything and make sure the work is completed to a standard. He never turned up once. The Barclays representative lost my house keys, meaning having to change the house locks, and one of the workman wrote his next list of jobs on the wall in my house.


General Comments

From the moment I called about a claim, I knew it was not going to be easy - they kept promising to call back, but they never did as systems were down.
Children would not write on a wall but the workman did.
It might be cheaper to use Barclays Home Insurance, but I am living to regret it. The last five months have been hell, and I am still chasing for them to replace the locks on my house after they lost the key.

Their maintenance company are shocking! I had to chase them all the time to get the work done, and once they turned up to decorate and never told me they were coming. When I spoke to the guy he said "maybe we told your wife and she forgot, you know what these women are like!"
