General Comments

This gun is CHEAP, so don't expect it to be anything more than a toy. That said I found it quite fun for a long time. It's cheap enough at WalMart for about 15 dollars. Don't bother thinking about shooting pellets with it, since you have to load each one individually and then push it in with a little plastic stick thing. When I was bored I would set up a pizza box in my back yard and shoot it from about 10 feet. It would penetrate it and I would collect the BB's to use again. The gun has only a 2 inch smooth bore "barrel", so the accuracy is ok, but you can't shoot really far with it. It shoots slow enough that I am able to actually see the BB fly. This is not a gun for hunting or real target shooting. It is an excellent toy to play around with though. I really like the fast reloading of it since it has a BB reservoir that holds about 18-20 BB's, and all you have to do is tilt it back to load another one. The spring is not that hard to pull/push once you get used to it, and depends on how you hold it while performing the actions. I found you don't have to push the spring back to fire it and it shoots just the same. Since its just a rapid fire little spring gun I went through LOTS of BB's. I found that filing a drinking straw with BB's made it easy to refill the gun fast. The gun can be loads of fun as long as you're not fooling yourself into thinking it is more than it is. Remember it's only 15 bucks. I had it for about 3-4 years and I don't now how many shots I fired but it was probably around a few thousand and I had no problems what so ever with it. I even dropped it many times (on concrete too) and the only thing bad was that it got scratched up a little. Now thinking about it I regret returning it to the store. yes I did have it for a long time but Walmart will pretty much take any returns for any reason. I wanted my 15 dollars back to spend on a higher end air gun. I ended up getting a Benjamin .22 which I love, but I can't as easily shoot it in my back yards when my neighbors are out. I forgot to mention that the Marksman doesn't have much power and I was unable to puncture a empty soda can at point blank range, I don't think it even dented it much. Another reviewer said it was cheaper than movie tickets and he's right, it's fun and cheap, so if your looking for some simple shooting fun you might be interested in this one. Right now I still wish I had mine.
