Good Points

Clean Hotel.
Clean and large swimming pools.
Polite and friendly staff.
Good selection of food.
Great hotel for kids, plenty for them to do, lots of day time activities.
Beach about 2 minutes down the road.
Plenty of shops around.
Wide range of excursions.

Bad Points

Staff didn't speak a word of English.
Entertainment in evenings very repetitive.
Beds not very comfortable.
Everything shuts down at midnight, no exceptions.
Food was slightly greasy and often cold if you got there late.
Not a great hotel for a couple who don't want children around.
Complete no smoking resort.
Excursions are very expensive.

General Comments

What a great holiday! Just come back from 2 weeks away at Clumba Mar with my partner and it was the best 2 weeks I've had in a long time. The hotel and staff were lovely, our room wasn't far away from the lift on the fourth floor, which was great. The first few days it was the start of the season, so there appeared only to be six of us kicking around in the entire hotel, which was awkward at meal times when you have five staff standing around you and two of you eating. I soon missed those first few days when people started pouring in during the second week. Most of the time we found ourselves walking round the local town, which is very nice, all for tourism though, every other shop is selling the lilos and snorkelling gear.

We also took advantage of some of the excursions. We went scuba diving off Alcudia, which was a fantastic experience and I would recommend it to anyone considering it. I was extremely nervous of it but I assure you, there really is nothing to worry about. We went diving with a company called Scuba Med, I had about 2/3 instructors with me at all times, being really patient and helpful. My other half already has his qualifications, so I was impressed when Thomson lowered the price for him. He also really enjoyed himself.

We went jet skiing, which was only for 15 minutes but again, an absolute blast. I was a little slow at first but after a few moments you find yourself going full pelt across the waves.

The markets were not so impressive but most of the things were cheaper in the actual shops.

We also decided to go on a coach trip to Pirates Uncut, which I have written a separate review on, as I could not fit how great this show was in this box.

Bar: we spent most days relaxing by the pool in the sister hotel, which is on the opposite side of the road, mainly because water sports were being played in the main one and also the kids hadn't discovered the sister pool yet. Two very nice British guys were the bar staff in that pool as well, which made life easier when ordering drinks.

We also spent a lot of time at the beach, the water was lovely and warm, almost crystal clear, there were quite a lot of seaweed patches but most of it was fine and clear.

Although we were fully inclusive, we did decide to go out some of the nights for a meal. Although the food in the hotel was a very nice buffet, it got a bit samey after the first week and you had to time it right to get the hot food that came out, it was also fairly greasy. Interestingly, they rarely serve Spanish food, Paella was never served. Also, Sangria wasn't available at the bar, which is one of my favourite drinks over there, so we found ourselves out most evenings drinking a couple litres of Sangria before taking full advantage of the hotel bar, as you do!

I have put that it was a no smoking hotel in the bad points as myself and my partner found it difficult in the evening watching entertainment and then having to walk 5 miles just to go out for a cigarette. The entertainment was so popular that we couldn't both go or we would have lost our seats.

The entertainment staff were very funny and helpful. In fact more so sometimes than our actual Thomson reps! The kids disco was starting to make me want to shove a pen through my eye by the end of the second week and I can no longer listen to, blame it on the boogie or cha cha slide. It also made me appreciate how crazy some Brits are about bingo. Apparently it's not a laughing matter to shout bingo when you haven't even bought a ticket! Needless to say, I don't think I'll be playing bingo again any time soon. The various bands brought in for the evenings were all as good as can be expected.

I won't give too much grief to the Thomson reps as they did help us out a few times. However, by the end of the two weeks I was getting bored of them looking like they had just dragged themselves out of bed from all night clubbing and complaining that they are overworked. I appreciate their job isn't that easy, however I really don't want to hear people whining first thing in the morning, or when I'm trying to ask them about the fun things to do on the island.

We did originally book up to see some Caves on one of the excursions, however we missed the coach, I was fuming with the lack of help the so called 24 hour Thomson hotline gave me.

Well actually I don't think, sorry the reps are having their siesta until 5pm I can't do anything, counts as help! When the reps got back we were met with a grumpy response of, we don't give refunds, which got my back up because I hadn't even explained that I didn't want a refund, I wanted to do something else instead.

Fortunately, they did speedily change our caves excursion for the Pirates Uncut that was showing that evening and luckily for them I think I would have preferred the Pirates anyway.

All in all it was a great hotel, great staff and everything was within walking distance, I would fully recommend this holiday to anyone and I personally can see myself going back.
