Good Points

Close to the beach but access to it, through the hotel, is not great for young children.

Bad Points

The general standard of our room at the Aparthotel Puerto Tahiche was very poor. The pool was very dangerous for all ages as there was no steps into the pool only fairly steep slopes, which were very slippery. For entertainment for children in the evening at the hotel was upstairs and with a pushchair that made it very difficult.

General Comments

Staff of the hotel were friendly but this does not make up for the cleanliness of the place. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially those with children.

Not recommend it for children? My brother and I have holidayed here for 2 years and are booked again this year. He is a single parent with 2 young girls and we all love it here - especially the kids. There is specific entertainment for them and they are the ones who insist on going back to the same place each year. Staff really friendly. Good atmosphere and very central.

Scubalover, each to their own, but I will not subject my 2 daughters to that place again, the overall reviews say it all and at 67% I want better. That pool was dangerous and there were several comments about it when we were there. If you like to stay in a bad hotel, then that's up to you. If you want a cheap and cheerful holiday then this is for you, I am just warning others who are looking for safety and a better standard of apartment.

Thanks for your comments Tinkly, but I don't believe the pool is dangerous. You needed to take care but like so many things in life nowadays in the UK it would appear you want NO risks. There were at least 2 other pools in this complex. I remember a children's pool where you would have been perfectly happy and another larger pool with roman style steps entry. To describe it as a bad hotel goes a bit far I think. You get what you pay for and yes, there is nothing wrong with cheap. Unfortunately some people tend to forget how little they've paid for their holiday when they arrive in resort! The hotel provides what the vast majority of family holidaymakers want - and do it well given the amount each guest pays.
