Good Points

Jog Dial. Predictive text works v. well with jog dial. Light, small, good looking. Phone book system. Icons for phone numbers. Missed calls includes dialled and recieved with icons to differentiate. Pretty greyscale backgrounds (x3). Ease of use. Did I mention the jog wheel?

Bad Points

Pathetic vibrate alert. No increasing volume ringer (unlike like nokia), can't vibrate & ring. Naff ring tones. Jog dial on wrong side for right handed user (me) - can't reach dial & keys at same time with one hand. Can't set up new icons - existing selection is not great. Games are a waste of space. To many clicks to get to txt message writing. Can't see letters on keys in the dark.

General Comments

Have yet to see a phone with all the features and none of the bugs. It's getting on a bit now.

The phone book is great, accesible by just rolling the jog, really easy to move around, store 3 numbers + 2 free text fields under every entry.

Has Wap - never mind eh?
Doesn't have gprs, but have you seen the outrageous charges for gprs??? think I'll wait till i'm home to check my mailbox for spam.

Even though I have gripes about it, it's a good phone, have not seen any other phones that are quite as well thought out as this one. Nokia are close but missing some of the little things the sony does that make it an easier & quicker phone to use.

It's a shame the Sony P800 is so expensive.

PS. I have had this for over a year now.
Previous phones: Motorola brick, Original Ericsson flip front thing, Nokia 8210 (x3).

Was considering Samsung S300 till I read the reviews - all looks no functionality. Still looking...
