Accurate
hard hitting
A little more expensive than other brands but still pretty cheap
After I found out that a light pellet (Gamo PBA) while flat shooting, didn't hit hard enough out of a lower powered gun to knock down a squirrels, I decided to try the Gamo Rocket pellets. With their heavy weight (9.5 grains), they don't shoot nearly as flat so you will have to re-sight your gun, but they hit like a freight train. If you shoot the bottom of a soda can with a normal weight pellet or a light pellet like the PBAs, they just go through with little energy transfer. With the Gamo Rockets, they throw the can back 2 or 3 feet. I'm using a Remington airmaster 77 as it is the most accurate gun in my arsenal. With Crosman premier lights, it's favorite pellet, It groups within an inch at 50 yards. The Gamo rockets, are not quite as accurate, about an inch at 40 yards, is still quite good. I intend to use them on squirrels and I usually get within 30 yards so this isn't a problem. In the Remington, my guess is that they are shooting in the mid 600fps range due to their heavier weight. Haven't used them on squirrels but on a crow, another tough critter, it dropped it without a twitch at 30 yards. They seem to transfer all of their energy very well. I believe they cause more shock than even a Beeman Kodiac pellet. I will post some updates as soon as possible. Out of a mid to high powered gun I believe they are great and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has a critter problem.
