Good bang for your buck
Not a single dead pixel
Very bright
Pixel lag isn't noticeable
12:10 wide-screen causes issues with some games
Could do with some more vertical space
No DVI connection
The model I have is the AL1916W - the 16:10 ratio wide-screen version with a native resolution of 1440x900. At first, using this monitor was a bit off-putting due to how wide and long it is after having used a standard 4:3 CRT for 20 years but I soon got used to it.
I got this monitor with my custom system in November and was very impressed. I have never been bothered with DVI as the benefits to me are minimal. The screen is clear and from day one there were no dead pixels.
The plastic front is susceptible to scratches as I found out whilst moving my mixer, catching it on the plastic and leaving a mark. This was mostly sorted out by gently rubbing mildly abrasive toothpaste with a soft cloth over the scratch after leaving it for a couple minutes, though the mark is still slightly visible.
I play games on my PC a lot and before having owned this monitor, heard horror stories of ghosting on screen due to pixel lag. I was happy to see that after six months, none has been noticed. The Acer AL1916W is very good value for money. Getting a 19" TFT for less than £150! I would get a second one if I could afford it.
