General Comments

I bought the Beeman 2004e a couple of months ago, for the sum of £56 at a local market trader. The pistol is an identical copy of the HW- HW40 but around £30 cheaper. The pistol itself is very well built, made from a strong polymer plastic and has a nice weight to it,and very comfortable grips, similar to a Walther p99.The cocking is a little difficult at first( the compression cycle) but after a few shots it eases off. Power is rated at 410 fps which may be about right with lighter pellets, thus giving around 2.9 ft lbs. I would say its power is slightly lower than that of my Webley tempest, but more than makes it up on accuracy !. I have added a 4x20 rifle scope and i can get groups well within 1 cm at 25 feet, which may not be great to many of you but compared to my tempest is about 3 times better ! Also with the scope added it makes the cocking a little easier. Lastly for those of you who want to know "how loud" it is, well it gives off a sharp crack when fired, but not quite as loud as a co2 pistol but slightly louder than my tempest.

Hi i have a severe pest problem (squirrels and rabbits)

I have been using my Falcon 2.2 compressed air gun to kill them and it works tremendously but it has to be pumped up after about 50 shots so not too good for longterm shooting. i was wandering if the beeman was accurate enough to hit a squirrel and powerful enough to kill it?

    Thanks for your time

    Hi andyg0,
I would stick to your .22 falcon m8 as the Beeman 2004(or any other pistol for that matter) are just not powerful or accurate enough to dispatch vermin. I dare say point blank head shot to a bird etc would maybe do the job as a last resort. Pistol hunting is frowned upon by most as the legal limit is 6 ft lbs and the Beeman is only doing around 2.5 - 3 ft lbs on a good day, and it takes roughly 3-4 ft lb to take out a rabbit and probably more for a squirrel and you will not even get close enough to do any damage, only wound. There is a air pistol forum on the web , and a lot of people use a Crosman 1377 for hunting rabbits at close range, but most of these people live in America, where the limit for power is higher! P.s. you say you need to fill your rifle up after 50 shots- could you carry 50 rabbits or squirrels home with you lol ?

    Cheers Dougie

I agree with this review because I first noticed the crack when it's fired, then as I shot mine more I became aware of the accuracy. I avoid Chinese made products because of the quality control problems, but this one is really well put together.
