General Comments

Buy the 4 packs to save money! I love the tasty flavour and dunking chips in the sauce. Me and my g/f regularly do this when watching the 10 o'clock news. GET OUT THERE AND EAT BEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the ILoveWavs.com website - under the title of 'Beanmouth' - your windy comment is more than justified!!

Beanz Meanz Heinz - you just can't beat Heinz baked beans.

The best way to eat them, and this is also favoured by some of the top chef's in the world is, toward the end of the cooking, splash in a good few shakes of Sarson's malt vinegar and a large knob of butter.

The vinegar gives them a very moorish taste, whilst the butter gives the sauce a creamy texture and look and also adds to the taste.

Serve on big pieces of hot buttered toast with a pint of tea.

    A proper feast.

    Some more suggestions:#

Curried beans, add curry powder and sultana's.

Cheesy Beano's - pile your beans on top of buttered toast, then grate some cheese on top of that, slap it under the grill for about 5 minutes.

Pot Mess - Stick them together with boiled/tinned potato's, tinned tomato's, corned beef, onions and anything else for a really tasty hash type meal - this is a good one for when you're drunk and can't decide what to have, just throw loads of different things in a pot, it all comes together in the end.

Wally - I'll try all your recipies as it'll make a nice change from plain beans which I eat at least four tins of a week. I do like Heinz, but Somerfield's own-brand under the name of "Simply" are very nice too. And even cheaper.

Baked beans figure a lot in the "F-Plan" diet being highly nutritious with a high protein content( more than beef) and a fairly low calorie content of about 160 for a half-tin.

Whoever invented them ought to go down in history!

Wally...I've tried all your recommendations - and more! As you said -'it all comes together in the end'. Country Sauces Original Pickle (half the price of you-know-who's) is particularly good with the beans.
Jims g/f (I assume the g/f means girl friend) you and Jim KEEP eating beans - lots of them - keeps your minds off other things.
