The Kololi Mansea Beach is a basic hotel,clean,central to the main strip and 5 minutes from the beach,the staff were very friendly and the facilities were good.
Bad Points
The pool needs a little attention, as most of the tiles were coming off, and the entertainment at night was very repetitive.
General Comments
We are just back from 2 weeks at the Kololi Mansea Beach,it was very basic accommodation but clean, bedding and towels changed daily, the staff were all friendly. The bumsters can annoy you, but a polite "no thank you" always did the trick. I was with my husband and 6 year old son I felt very safe walking around on my own and the Gambian people are all very friendly, remember to barter for everything you buy, or they will rip you off. The poverty is a bit of an eye opener, but giving a little is better than nothing. I would recommend the Gambia for a relaxing break.

We went there at Easter 2007 for 2 weeks, returning again in November for a week.
Sounds like the pool has continued to shed its tiles so hope they invest some money in patching it up soon!
I'd say make the most of Gambia before commercialization really kicks in and messes it up.
