Good Points

This car I bought because I was short on cash. I wanted max BHP and minimum insurance. It fulfils both roles. Its a pokey little car with 100BHP, and at insurance group 4 its cheap to insure. Its working parts seem to be bullet proof. In 3 years I've had to replace the cam belt (service interval NOT failure) and exhaust (36k miles of use). I've done 30k miles in it, and its never missed a beat - I'd describe the engine as solid. Its not quiet, refined or sexy, buts its quick and reliable. Surprisingly so when you look at it from the outside which brings me onto... the bad points...

Bad Points

The exterior is the opposite story. Basically the Daewoo seems to be an engine with the rest of the car glued on, and the trim bits have started to fall off on a daily basis. But who cares as long as the seat and pedals stay put, you can keep driving. Space isn't plentiful, but if your happy with golf clubs on the back seat its fine.

General Comments

The Daewoo Lanos 1.6 SE has impressed me with its reliability. Minimal servicing and no faults have proved it to be a really cheap car to run. If you don't care what people think, and want a cheap car to run - I'd go for a Daewoo Lanos 1.6 SE.
