General Comments

I am well aware of people having problems with the Skif A-3000, but I have some tips for those people:
1. When you get your magazine; loosen the 5 screws by half a turn.
2. Oil your magazines and rotate the 28 chambers using the reloading tool until you find it is a smooth action
3. clean the gun and oil the moving parts
4. (this point is soooo difficult) After completing the 3 points above, leave the gun and magazines overnight for the oil to settle in!
When you wake up in the morning, load it up and shoot off some rounds to get the feel of the gun. Then sight it in from about 25 metres and fire off some more rounds.
Remember to keep your gun oiled and your magazines oiled too.

Anyway..... on to my experiences:

I received the gun from uttings.com and the plastic case is a bit rubbish, but works. The gun is AWESOME! I experienced some jams etc in the first day but I had a good look at it and then came up with the solution (the points above) and it has been FINE for the last 600 pellets. I use Walther Co2 bulbs and 2 types of pellets:
1. Prometheus Hunter (plastic jacketed, yellow, 125 per box, comes in a red tub) These are my favourite pellets and work best, but they tend to be quite pricey.
2. Any pointed copper pellets. I've tried a few different types and all work fine. much better than standard lead pellets.

Next.....

The accuracy is brilliant. Let's face it; you're not gonna be sniping a rabbit at 100 metres with a pistol! So for distances of 15-50 metres, this is VERY accurate. I never even had to alter the sights on my pistol, they're perfect from 25 metre targets. I can hit a coke can about 20 times from the 28 shot clip....RAPID FIRE!

Now...on to a myth:

"The Anics Skif A-3000 has an orange plug on the end of the barrel"....NO IT DOESN'T! Unless your country specifies the need for an orange plug as the LAW, then the Anics doesn't need one. So if you got an orange plug on yours, then you'd get an orange plug on ANY gun you bought!

And finally: I would recommend this gun over the Walther CP99 or CPsport. while the Walthers are great guns, the Anics' ability to fire 28 shots in as many seconds is just AWESOME!

GET AN ANICS SKIFF A-3000!

50m?? Will it realy shoot that far? I'm looking to get this pistol, could you recommend this pistol over the Walther CP88 and Beretta 92FS ?

    Thanks, Rich.

It will hit a target at 50 metres easy enough. But the grouping will be around 6 inches at best.....16 inches worst case!

The berretta and the Walther are good guns, but they don't look as nice or feel as nice as the Anics. also, the Anics has the 28 shot magazine....and the's AMAZING! I can't remember what the Berretta holds, but the Walther holds 8. so you have a 20 shot advantage before reload.

Also, Don't expect to be shooting any moving targets (game etc) at 50 metres with this pistol....it just isn't accurate enough at those distances. Then again, NO air pistol is THAT accurate at distances above 30 metres.

Not true, I live in Canada and imported the Skif from US, it did have the orange barrel, (which I painted black) but it's the ONLY airgun that has an orange muzzle that I know of! Airsoft guns in US do require to have t hem, but not airguns!

Before the Skif broke (after only 3 months/1200 shots) I tried oiling the magazine to prevent jams. IIRC they continued to happen from time to time, but the oil in the mahazine only attracted the dirt and lead partcles! SoO I wouldn't recommend it...

To the guy who asked about BERETTA 92,.---- I also had one; it was MUCH better gun than the Skiff, hands down not even close! Can't think of a single area where Skiff would come ahead; 92FS has better finish, more power (!), built quaity is 10x better and is a little more accuarte as well.

''Not true, I live in Canada and imported the Skif from US''

Surely this is because the law in the US (where you imported the gun from) states that it must have an orange barrel?

    Just a thought

Also, i'm looking to buy my first gun, would you recommend this one for a starter?

    Thanks in advance

In US, only Air-soft guns are required to have an orange muzzle, NOT airguns...

Also shooting this gun at 50m is a joke IMO; sure the pellet will make it that far but I don't think you can get any groupings. I've shot my Beretta 92 .177 at 25m and you can actually get to shoot point of aim with reasonable accuracy (untill the CO2 runs low than the point of impact drops). But nobody shoots airpistols at 50m.

I've head the Skiff; it's not a good gun trust me. Get an Umarex made airguns, Beretta, S&W or P88...
