Good, albeit expensive, connections to Victoria Station with the Gatwick Express.
Bad Points
Gatwick's security staff were the rudest and most disorganized of all the security people I have encountered in 30+ airports. I was told that asthma medication was allowed on board my flight by one security woman, only to have my breather tossed out by her co-worker, who grabbed the breather from my hand and threw it out without explanation. I don't appreciate getting sworn at whilst asking for an explanation. I was not being rude, I work in customer service too and know what it feels like to deal with rotten customers! I hope the elderly woman, whose blood thinning medication got thrown out, was alright on her flight too. Despite BAA signs everywhere, staff don't seem familiar with what is and isn't allowed on board the airplanes. Even on my plane, a woman mentioned that her pens and cosmetics were binned while mine weren't.
Bus service needs to be a bit more frequent, perhaps twice an hour rather than on an hourly basis.
General Comments
I'd like to say that Gatwick is a good alternative to Heathrow but due to security issues, it was simply frustrating.
