Fitting service.
OK for pre-school children.
The bigger the feet, the uglier and bulkier the shoe! The last pair of school shoes were well worn after just 6 weeks. One Clarks store measured my son's feet at UK 1.5 F fitting, and two days later a different store measured his feet at UK 1 G Fitting!! I have found this has happened several times.
I have always purchased Clarks shoes for my son, from pre-walkers to the size he is now - UK Size 1.5 and age 7 years. Why is it, the bigger the feet get, the uglier and bulkier the shoes get!!?? I was so disappointed with the last pair I purchased for my son for school. We were given 2 choices of style in his size from our local Clarks, and basically picked "the best from a bad bunch". Aside from the appearance of the shoe, after 6 weeks they looked as though they had been worn for a couple of years, wearing at the front and the heel area. I have always purchased from Clarks, but I don't think I will be going back now my son is 7. They were fine while he was a toddler; well, up until he started school really, but now I feel it is time to move on.
I purchased my son's last pair of school shoes from Hush Puppies. They were not any cheaper, but the leather seemed better quality, and the shoe style was much nicer. He has had them since January (it is almost May now), and (if he stays the same size) they should last him easily until at least September, possibly longer. So, if you are looking for a change and have experienced the same frustrations as I have recently with Clarks, then do take a look at what the Hush Puppies range of footwear has to offer.
