I tried to purchase Medical Insurance here in Cyprus from Universal Life - offering an AXA PPP policy. I requested details by E-Mail from their website, and they phoned back and arranged an appointment with an agent. At the appointed time I curtailed what I was doing, travelled the 10 miles or so to the office, arriving at 1550 for a 1600 appointment. By 1615 hours the office was still closed (despite a sign saying declaring opening time to be 1600, so I left. Some 30 minutes later I received a call from the agent with the excuse that he had received a phone call. I posted a complaint to the Universal Life website - it was not even acknowledged.

The website of Universal Life (selling AXA/PPP policies) states:

Our philosophy:
To offer you the level of most customer service possible (sic)
To always function with professionalism, consistency and responsibility.

Would you want to deal with this company if you develop a serious medical condition, if they can't even turn up for an appointment or acknowledge a complaint?
